The East Village Pop Up Shop at Westfield shopping centre will be alive with the sound of poetry on Thursday 1st August for the “Poems of Place” Poetry Slam.
The evening will be hosted by poet Angry Sam (aka Sam Berkson) and will see five poetry ‘Slammers’ test their lyrical athleticism and performance prowess in a bid to win over the crowd and critics to be crowned ‘Champion Slammer’ for the evening.
The Poetry Slam aims to raise awareness and community for East Village, London’s first residential legacy to result from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games when it opens to residents in late summer.
