Wiener Library Family History Day

The Wiener Library offers unparalleled resources for researching family histories connected to the Holocaust. This special Open Day is an ideal place to start learning about the impact of the Holocaust across the generations, and the difficult but potentially immensely rewarding work of tracing the fate of lost relatives.

As well as tours of the Wiener Library’s exhibition and collections, this day will offer a unique opportunity to talk one-on-one with experts on key genealogical resources. Jeanette Rosenberg, a professional genealogist and specialist in Holocaust research, Mark Nicholls, Director of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies, and Christine Schmidt, the Wiener Library’s own specialist International Tracing Service Archive researcher, will all be on hand to offer help and advice.

Family activities will include making a family tree and exploring artefacts in our collection.

The event is open to all, and families are welcome. We recommend that activities offered will be appropriate to visitors aged 8 and above.
