Bassist Yolanda Charles has a unique combination of creative flair, natural showmanship and amazing technical ability which will mark this performance at the 606 with her band, known simply as “The Deep Mo”, as a truly funk driven spectacular. Beginning her career backing greats such as Jimmy Sommerville and in bands such as “Raw Stylus” and “Urban Species” she was soon a session player for artists including Paul Weller, Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey, Gabrielle and Robbie Williams. As at ease with a pen writing as playing live, it was only a matter of time before she started performing with her own collective, the above mentioned “The Deep Mo”, releasing the album “Funk in the 3rd Corner” and cementing her place as one of the foremost funk/fusion artists in the UK.
