The third Highgate Jazz with Soul Festival, which takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (Aug 23rd-26th), will present an exciting and eclectic mix of artists this year whilst staying true to its Jazz roots.

Offering something for everyone, the festival will be staged at four different venues across Highgate including Lauderdale House, The Old Crown, The Bull and Caipirinha, presenting 13 concerts.
This year will feature established and well respected artists as well as showcasing some of the UK's and Europe's finest new talent.
Festival director Brandon Allen said: “This year we hope to bring more variety to the festival and to expand the scope of Jazz with Soul on offer. We will be presenting gypsy jazz, funk, blues, world music, boogaloo, mainstream, straight ahead, bebop, New York inspired jazz, intimate vocal performances and much more.”
Highlights include:
Trio Manouche, one of the UK's leading gypsy swing ensembles, performing re-worked Django Reinhardt classics, plus their own material.

Winner of the BBC best jazz vocalist in 2004 and 2007, Ian Shaw remains a popular performer in the UK and USA.

Saxophonist and national treasure Alan Barnes brings his quartet to the festival and will be joined by American tenor sax titan Scott Hamilton.

Intimate performances by legendary saxophonist Bobby Wellins with pianist/composer Kate Williams and vocalist Tina May with Nikki Iles are just some of the concerts taking place at Lauderdale House.
The Filthy Six are one of the most exciting and authentic Soul Jazz outfits in the UK today, they will be launching the festival.
Each day will conclude with a late night jam session plus DJ's into the early hours at the festival's final destination, Caipirinha.
