IMPERIAL WHARF JAZZ FESTIVAL 2013

St George is to host the annual Imperial Wharf Jazz Festival on Thursday 19 & Saturday 21 September at London’s leading riverside destination.

After the resounding success of previous years, and now in its ninth year, St George is hosting the annual free Jazz Festival at Imperial Wharf featuring some of the world’s most creative jazz musicians.
The exciting two day programme will begin on Thursday 19 September, showcasing EverYoung and world-famous US disco diva and soul superstar Jocelyn Brown.

The festival will continue on Saturday 21 September; opening with the Congo Faith Healers an intense and utterly compelling live show filled with gypsy blues. Leading into the afternoon with performances from the best jazz Act and MOBO award wining band, Kairos 4tet, Anthony Strong hailed as “England’s next jazz superstar”, and Stonephace Stabbins, Working Week’s saxophonist Larry Stabbins brings a blistering energy to a fiery new quintet that features MOBO jazz award winner Zoe Rahman.

The Saturday evening session welcomes Zara McFarlane and returning once again to the Imperial Wharf Jazz Festival with their cool, funky jazz, the James Taylor Quartet.

Located at the heart of Imperial Wharf, the Jazz Festival provides outstanding views along the River Thames, creating a great atmosphere where diners can enjoy a range of culinary delights from the famous Blue Elephant, a selection of Lebanese dishes from Yamal Alsham, as well as the highly popular Young’s Waterside bar and restaurant. Visitors can also choose from a wide range of wines from Wimbledon Wine Cellar.

The Jazz Festival has been programmed and produced in partnership with St George by leading event production company ESIP, also behind the international concert series ‘Made in the UK’ and the Global Mix record label.
