Sipsmith will launch a sensory gin-inspired display in partnership with floral artist Rebecca Louise Law at The Chelsea Gardener to celebrate Juniper, gin’s key ingredient. Providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the herbaceous plant whilst tasting Sipsmith’s award-winning London Dry Gin, the installation will be fully immersive, encouraging consumers to use all of their senses to experience Juniper. Open from Friday 6th September for four weeks, Sipsmith will also house a G&T pop up bar at the garden centre on Wednesdays through to Sundays (full timings of the pop up bar’s opening times are listed below).

Rebecca will transform a greenhouse into a botanical work of art using just Juniper and copper wire, paying homage to Sipsmith’s copper pot stills at the distillery. Fairfax Hall, Sipsmith co-founder, comments: “We wanted to work with Rebecca to create a sensory installation in which Sipsmith fans and gin aficionados could learn about the key ingredient in their favourite drink. Guests will see the plant in its natural form, step on Juniper berries to release the piney, resinous aromas, touch the display and nose the foliage before finally tasting our gin.

“We’re delighted to be working with The Chelsea Gardener – it’s a stunning space right in the heart of London and just four miles away from our distillery.”

A member of the Sipsmith team will be on hand to informally talk guests through the history of Juniper, gin and provide a fun and educational introduction to gin production, from botanical to bottle.

Gerardo Vidaurre, Manager at The Chelsea Gardener adds: “Plants are our passion and we’re delighted to welcome Sipsmith and the acclaimed Floral Installation Artist Rebecca Louise Law to create a focus on the Juniper plant, enabling our customers to experience the processes used to create such a deliciously refreshing drink.”

The installation will be open from Friday 6th September until Sunday 29th September (opening hours: Monday-Friday 11am-7pm, Saturday, 11am-6pm; Sunday, 12pm-6pm).

The G&T pop up bar will be open every Wednesday through to Sunday from Friday 6th September to Sunday 29th September at the following times:
Wednesdays, 5pm-7pm
Thursdays, 12pm-7pm
Fridays, 12pm-7pm
Saturdays 12pm-6pm
Sundays, 12pm-5pm
