Colour of emotion exhibition at Chelsea

Colour of Emotion is a one off evening Exhibition presenting a selection of recent work by a UK based Russian artist Alla Popova.
Alla is specializing in expressive bold and colourful artwork.
“Each colour effects emotions consciously or subconsciously. Red is known to have physical effect, by stimulating us; Blue can be interpreted as an intellectual colour, which can effect us mentally, promote calmness of thought; Yellow is an emotional colour, generally associated with optimism and confidence; Green is a colour of balance, Orange of comfort, Black of sophistication.. I use different combinations of strong colour in my work to give vast dimensions to the subject portrayed. Despite the difference in meaning of each colour or hue I attempt to combine them so as to put them in harmony and create vibration in my paintings.

My work is about emotions where colour is a powerfully expressive tool.”
