Mary Jane Ansell Portraits Exhibition

Art, interiors and fashion all combine in the beautiful works of award-winning portait artist Mary Jane Ansell. Working as if directing a film, first she chooses a location and then spends weeks gathering vintage clothes, props and accessories before shooting hundreds of photographs and deciding which images to commit to paint. Her latest collection of portraits has military costumes at its heart and Swedish antiques as its backdrops and explores the themes of country, patriotism, peace and love. 80s pop icon Adam Ant is a noted art collector and a fan of her work and chose her painting 'Girl in a Cocked Hat' to be the cover image for his new CD.
