Working with Dr Michael Hooper (Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales and former Academy research fellow), the Kreutzer Quartet have embarked on a project, funded by the Australian Music Council, to record groundbreaking works from the 1960s and 70s by the Australians Don Banks, Nigel Butterley, Richard Meale and Felix Werder. These four composers shared a particularly international outlook, characteristic of the era in Australia. This event explores their international links and the ways in which their music can be said to be uniquely Australian.
