In 1992, the locked wards of Penwell Hospital are far from a holiday camp. But as Claudia, Ruth and Dee prepare for the annual disco, parallels with a trip to Butlins are hard to ignore.

The staff may wear white coats rather than red coats, but with bouts of karaoke, hairy legs and teddy bear making workshops, you could be forgiven from thinking you were on the British coast. As the young women prepare for their night in the limelight, one question remains: can anyone make it out of this place "sane"?
