In How To Understand the Online Art Market, Chris Grant Peterkin, founder of art directory website 'Visual Art Trader,' will help make sense of online galleries, sales platforms and artist websites.

The internet has revolutionised the market for artists themselves and the buyers of paintings, drawings, sculpture, and photography. In How To Understand the Online Art Market, Chris Grant Peterkin will help make sense of the online galleries, gallery listing sites, sales platforms and artist websites. Following a one hour lecture the audience will divide into three groups, each of whom will receive a fifteen minute individual session in which Chris will give detailed advice and share the latest industry knowledge with those wanting to buy and those wanting to sell. Those waiting their turn will be replenished with wine.

Chris Grant Peterkin is a leading visual art trader. After studying History of Art at Manchester, Chris worked briefly for Will Ramsey (Founder of The Affordable Art Fair) at his London gallery, Will’s Art Warehouse. In 2011, he released the first online art directory and democratic art community manifesto EVOLVE FOR ART’S SAKE! and in 2012, he launched the online art directory website, Visual Art Trader. Chris has been an official partner of Artsmart London, and last Winter he lectured on Reaching New Art Markets Online at 32 UK universities.
