The goal: to finish, not to win. Expert advice on the training, the options, the enrolment (Spring marathons in London, Rome, Barcelona, Brighton; Autumn in Berlin, Chicago, New York) – for anyone who has not yet joined this life-changing and democratic mass movement of persons from one place to another. Led by seasoned amateur Katherine Bucknell, who started in her fifth decade.

Katherine Bucknell is a novelist and literary scholar. As an undergraduate, she won seven varsity letters at Princeton and a blue and half-blue at Oxford playing hockey and lacrosse, and she was also captain of the first-ever Worcester College Women’s VIII, winners of Christ Church Regatta and four bumps in Summer VIIIs. Since turning fifty, she has run four marathons, London (twice), Paris, and Rome, and three half-marathons, Royal Parks (twice) and Reading.
