Funkology Presents: Nick Pride & The Pimptones

Nick Pride and the Pimptones are a more enigmatic band than you'd think. Despite calling their debut LP "A Midnight Feast of Jazz," the 7-piece showcased their funk, soul and even pop credentials as much as their jazz playing. A subsequent 45 on the french label Bad Ass saw them covering Unfinished Sympathy with a big party emphasis. The record has become a staple Funkology tune. Live, who knows what vocalist they'll turn up with and what set they'll play. We saw them playing funky jazz over a Notorious BIG accapella once!
