In part a romantic comedy, 'Meeting Leila' follows a young woman—a perfume tester with an acute sense of smell—who is trying to persuade her fiancé, Nader, to quit smoking before their marriage. Kicking this habit proves extremely challenging for Nader, because he works as the advertising agency’s 'idea man', and because he believes smoking has become inextricably linked to his creative thought process. The film takes us through Nader's gently comical struggles while it provides a charmingly honest look at compromises and negotiations required in any relationship.
