Nearly five decades after her death, Forough Farrokhzad lives on as one of Iran’s most celebrated intellectual and creative figures. To celebrate this legacy, join us at the London Iranian Film Festival’s “A Night With Forough”. Special guest Masoud Behnood will be speaking on his last memories of Forough and the report he wrote 46 years ago at the scene of her tragic death. Fatemeh Shams will also provide poetry readings for the evening, and Dr Dominic Parviz Brookshaw will deliver a talk on the different dimensions of Forough's poetic vision (in English). Additionally, we will be showcasing several recent documentaries on Forough that shed new light on her life and work. Taking place at the Greenwood Theatre, King’s College on the 6th of November from 7:30pm, book in advance to secure your seat at a special price.

Media sponsorship by BICDO, British Iranian Community Development Organisation.

Please note that the majority of this event will be in Persian, though Dr Brookshaw's talk will be delivered in English and English subtitles will accompany the documentaries.
