Here at Ravensbourne, we nurture and push young talent to think and create at the same zooming pace as today's ever-evolving technological advancements. We then set them off into the big wide world on a journey of boundary-breaking exploration armed with custom-made skills for a digital future.

As many others, we are worried about the environment. Today catastrophes such as melting of the polar caps, drought, expansive forrest fires and deadly hurricanes have all become frighteningly frequent and we are still adding 100 million tonnes of waste to the global warming pile every year. In 2003, just the recycling of glass alone saved enough energy to launch ten space shuttle missions and we therefore thought to launch a little mission of our own to raise awareness and help slow down global warming through reusing, recycling and up cycling old materials into innovative new concepts.
Each year the Penrose Festival grows bigger and more exciting. Our family is always hard at work generating new schemes for the students to consider the wider global picture and this time round they've pushed the bar even higher. Each green idea is a fresh, youthful vision which opens our eyes to all the alternative uses of waste products - with a production budget of just £1, they are set on a race to push their creative limits and master a product that's offbeat and utile, quite the balancing act!

The festival coincides with Global Enterprise Week - a campaign initiated by Youth Business international in partnership with Barclays to enlighten and encourage young people to take an innovative step towards creating their own business. As Ravensbourne is an open and interactive institution, we encourage communication and collaboration. That's why we thought to engage you in creating a series of short two hour courses and introductions into digital and business innovation of the future - each visitor is free to get involved, be part of our mission and leave brimming with new ideas.

The courses include:
-Build Website with Wordpress
-Social Media for Business
-Introduction to Rapid Prototyping
-Introduction to Vectorworks for interiors and Architecture

As well as talks on accumulating enough money to start your own creative or digital business and means to succeed in today's economic climate.

If you are interested in gaining a new insight into the world of creative and digital business or simply want to check out what wacky, breakthrough products our students have magic-ed up, head to our abode at Greenwich Peninsula!

See you there!
