“The music (industry) over the last few years has moved from a position where it's a sales-based model to one where it is much more a usage-based model,” says Keith Harris, artist manager & PPL Director of Performer Affairs. “It’s about doing a licence for use of your music.”
That’s one reason why BBM (BritishBlackMusic.com) is kicking off 2014 with its New Year Music Industry Knowledge-boosting Workshops. Veteran music publisher and music consultant Ivan Chandler leads on Making Sense Of Music Licensing, and experienced music business advisor Boomy Tokan leads on Making Sense Of How The Music Industry Works & Preparing A Music Business Plan Workshop.
The workshops, which take place January 15 and 22 in central London, aim to “turn your new year’s resolution into reality, by power-boosting your music industry knowledge and contacts!”
