System 7 and Rovo embark on a March 2014 UK tour to perform their groundbreaking album 'Phoenix Rising' with Live shows at Manchester Ritz on FridayMarch 7th, London o2 Islington Academy Saturday March 8th, and Brighton Concorde 2 Sunday March 9th. System 7 also release a double CD release of 12” mixes and classic tracks titled 'Out' at the end of March.

The tour has been masterminded by System 7's Steve Hillage, who was recently given the “The Visionary Award” at the Progressive Music Awards 2013. Each ticket booking booked from musicglue.com/rovoandsystem7 will automatically include a free MP3 of the “Hinotori EP” featuring individual and collaborative tracks from both System 7 and Rovo.

‘PHOENIX RISING’ live is a combined show of System 7 and ROVO playing together, utilizing the techno beats as the rhythmic basic and live drums, seamlessly morphing into each other.

The System 7/Rovo Phoenix Rising concert will showcase some of the most sophisticated blends of electronic beats and live playing ever produced, made possible by the skilled musicianship of eight players. Beginning with a 30 minute solo Rovo set, then a 30 minute solo System 7 set, followed by a 75-minute set, fans of System 7’s Steve Hillage can be assured that in the format of Phoenix Rising his masterful electric guitar style is fully unleashed, with extensive soloing and duets with the electric violin of ROVO’s Yuji Katsui.

System 7 are Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy, who released their first System 7 record in August 1990 on Virgin Records. Since then they have released 11 albums and a string of singles with some classic remixes including mixes from Richie Hawtin ‘Alphawave’, Derrick May, Dubfire, Carl Craig and A Guy Called Gerald. One of the few techno groups to feature the electric guitar (with the sound often heavily processed), and also feature a female synthesiser player, System 7 continue to tour worldwide headlining some of dance music’s biggest festivals including Glastonbury, Glade, Sonica and Ozora and were recent Guests on The Orb’s 25th Anniversary UK tour.

Part of the development of Techno and Ambient music for many years, System 7’s mission is to continue with that process as part of a musical movement of dance-based rhythms and psychedelic ambience that embraces the whole planet, and through their friends and collaborators forge a network of highly creative people. System 7’s live performance is a bit more extreme than their records, with tougher beats and hypnotic live echo loops.

ROVO are a popular Japanese band that features two drummers, funky bass and innovative keyboards and are fronted by guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto (formerly with The Boredoms) and masterful electric violinist Yuji Katsui.
