Would you like to learn more about fragrance away from the scent counter? With 1500 new perfumes each year, how do you choose one for yourself? Come along to a workshop dedicated to orientals.

The scent of the Orient, imagined by European men in the 1900s. (So not all that accurate.) Oriental perfumes have one thing in common – vanilla. It’s a label, not an accurate description. There are spicy Orientals, amber Orientals, citrus Orientals… Explore the imaginary Far East as seen from West London. From Shalimar to Opium, visions of the exotic Orient have been captured and bottles. Bring your imagination, and your experience.

Come over to 4160 Tuesdays HQ, just west of Westfield, and educate your nose with our perfumer Sarah McCartney.

We’ve a collection of over 400 vintage and modern perfumes for you to try, from 1930s Guerlain L’Heure Bleue to Madonna’s Truth or Dare – taking in Dior, Yves St Laurent, Balenciaga, L’Artisan Parfumeur, Penhaligon’s, Serge Lutens and hundreds more on the way.

Mornings are for sniffing. Afternoons are for making.

Mornings 10.30 – 1

Smell a carefully curated range of perfumery materials and finished fragrances. Session includes tea and coffee, and includes your favourite 30ml bottle of 4160Tuesdays scent (usually £40) to take home with you.

Afternoons 2 – 6

Blend a scent of your own, using professional perfumery materials that match the theme of the day. Session includes tea, coffee, home made cake and a 30ml bottle of your own individual perfume - value: priceless!
