Despite Noel Coward’s reference to the potency of cheap music, for real potency there is no beating the expertise of the classical greats. Despite its ubiquity, pop music seldom succeeds in affecting us the way the great composers have done for centuries.
For the Concordia Chamber Choir’s forthcoming concert ‘The Pain and Pleasures of Man’ they have assembled a cornucopia of passionate music spanning over 400 years of dramatic composition. Each piece has been carefully chosen for its ability to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, to bring tears to your eyes, or to fill you with joy. From the Tallis Lamentations through Bairstow’s awe-inspiring Let all Mortal Flesh Keep Silence this promises to be an emotional rollercoaster ride you won’t forget!
Concordia has been establishing itself as 'definitely not just another choir'. Don't miss this chance to hear for yourself. Remember that feeling you get after you come home from a great concert? Make a note for your diary…
