Tim Finch will be reading from The House of Journalists (Jonathan Cape) about a celebrated London refuge for exiled writers. Given the relentlessly negative press about immigration and asylum seekers, Tim’s provocative debut novel is particularly timely.

Barbara Marsh will be reading from To The Boneyard (Eyewear Publishing) her acclaimed first collection of poems where candour, humour and revelation meet in a hotel bar for cocktails.

Anthea Nicholson will be reading from The Banner of the Passing Clouds (Granta Books) a literary tour de force about a victim of the Soviet Georgian regime who is also an informer.

Saira Shah will be reading from her accomplished debut novel The Mouse-proof Kitchen (Harvill Secker) set in a rundown farmhouse in the Languedoc about a couple coming to terms with caring for their child who has cerebral palsy.

Jack Wolf will be reading from his extraordinary first novel The Tale of Raw Head and Bloody Bones (Chatto & Windus) set in the 18th century, about a precociously talented student of medicine practising under the legendary Dr William Hunter.

There will be a cash bar available on the night
