Georgie O'Keeffe once stated that "to create one's own world in any of the arts takes courage"
In an age of multidisciplinary art practice no longer governed by grand narratives, what should the role of art education be in preparing artists to confront the challenges they will face outside these institutions of learning?
What if anything can be taught, when the conditions of art practice today, encourage pluralism and democracy with the same measure they demand self-promotion and marketing?
In an ever shifting post-modern condition, is it possible to teach artists today to find their criticality and the courage to create their own world ?
