Pure Evil Gallery proudly presents Pro176's first solo exhibition in London.

Big futuristic machines and other spaceships straight out of a science-fiction movie, with letters that are worked on to the extreme and always perfectly overlapped in this astral-galactic universe.
The anatomic lines of his characters are combined with a bright colour pallet that hints of Kirby’s marvellous character creations.

PRO176 was born the 29th of July 1976 in Paris and grew up at Choisy-le Roi, a little town located in a south suburb of Paris. At the young age of 5, he discovered the work of Jack Kirby, the famous American comic-book artist.
These comic-books from across the Atlantic that his mum used to buy him were his first lessons in art and have influenced ever since. In the beginning he kept drawing, because life in suburb was boring: it wasn’t a lot of fun there in those times and travelling into Paris was too expensive «where everything was happening... ». Violence in the neighbourhood and an unclear future ahead was a daily reality.

In 1989, the young PRO had a revelation and decide to dedicate his life to painting.

Two years later he stole for the first time, a copy of the classic book, SprayCan Art, since then he’s been infected by the graffiti virus. Krylon paint will run through his veins forever. Soon after this, school was replaced by meetings with his friends practicing their art on walls.

He met SEEN in 2009, when he was searching for a proper studio space to paint. The contact was easy between the two guys and they soon began to work in the same studio. By a curious coincidence, he used to study the Seen Chapter in SprayCan Art and now they began working side to side. Pro176 changed the can for a paintbrush and begin to paint acrylic on canvas. When the medium, the work also changed completely.
