On Saturday 12 April at 6pm, the London Marathon Thanksgiving Service takes place at All-Hallows-by-the-Tower. The service is to give thanks for all that has been achieved through the Marathon and for the gift of sport which enables us to cross the barriers of different nations, cultures, colours and faiths.

The church will be open all weekend (from 10am to 5pm) to offer a space for prayer, a place to light a candle, as well as a place of rest and hospitality for weary feet. All runners, families and friends are welcome.

The church’s vicar, The Reverend Bertrand Olivier, will be running in the Virgin London Marathon for the two charities from the Diocese of London’s Lent appeal; the Angola London Mozambique Association (ALMA) providing support to children, families and communities in those two countries, as well as for the Bishop of London's Mission Fund, supporting projects in communities in London.
