8:30pm Hayley is a remarkable singer who performs an impressive blend of Jazz, R&B and originals with a deft ease that has led her to being a resident vocalist on BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing” as well as a favourite at the 606 Club. Tonight she will be performing with her band as well as acting as “Master of Ceremonies” for the evening’s entertainment, featuring three groups personally chosen by Hayley for their distinctive personality, style and talent. Opening the night will be Hayley’s own band “THE STYLOPHONES”, a unique outfit that Hayley leads that perform a selection of original songs and quirky covers with irrepressible charm. But as well as presenting her own band we have asked Hayley to “Curate” the night by bringing along some artists new to the Club that she feels deserve greater recognition. So, over to Hayley to best describe the evening: “Bored of your average singer/songwriter nights? Fancy something a bit different? We want to take you to the underground, a place where the music evolves in front of your very eyes! 'The Stylophones' are a unique outfit that perform a selection of original songs and quirky covers, delivered with a Tarantino-like quality, this band certainly sets the scene... and we are also championing interesting performers, writers and artists! For this presentation we have some fabulous guest appearances that you're not going to want to miss… Jamie McCredie: Jamie won BBC Radio Guitarist of the Year competition in 2000 when he was 19. Since then, he has carved out a career as one of the UK's busiest session musicians and emerging talents in his own right, playing all over the world for artists including Melody Gardot, Kid Creole & the Coconuts, Britain's Got Talent, Mica Paris, the RPO and the London Jazz Orchestra, to name a handful. Tonight Jamie presents his own acoustic group, drawing on both classical and jazz guitar techniques & tradition. Clinton “Roachie” Outten is a Caribbean writer, producer and performer whose reggae inspired work has been heard in numerous and diverse contexts. His songs have been recorded by the likes of Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), Jessi J and rapper Dappy and his “Pineapple Song “ was used as the theme for the Pierce Brosnan film “After The Sunset”. More recently he has worked with ex-child soldier, hip-hop artist turned peace activist Emmanuel Jal, writing and producing his "Warchild" album, as well as seven songs on his most recent album "See Me Mama". Singer/Songwriter J Marie Cooper combines beautifully crafted, heartfelt lyrics with an explosive on-stage presence that has captivated London's music scene. An experienced performer who has been singing “for as long as I can remember” she includes work on the BBC’s iconic show Strictly Come Dancing on an impressive cv that also includes Wembley Arena and Ronnie Scotts. However, it was her appearance on another BBC show, “The Voice”, which caught the popular imagination and impressed all four judges, causing Will.I.Am to say “You are a star of an artist!”. A feisty and powerful performer her set promises to be something special. With this and more up our sleeve, there's something for everyone, from weird to wonderful, you can't go wrong!” This unusual night is on the leading edge of the UK scene, so expect refreshing surprises and twists and turns galore.
