When ‘Ugly’ emerges from his mothers nest it’s clear from the start he is not like the other boys. The subsequent bullying and taunting from his brothers and neighbours and his father’s disownment drive him to abandon his family and explore the world outside the duck pond with terrifying, comic and often enlightening consequences.

Ugly’s hilarious adventures take him through field, ditch, and valley, country house and frog pond, confronting him with indistinguishable friends and foes at every turn. His journey forces him to better understand the world around him, and through others, discover his true self. There is nothing like it to make you laugh, cry and shout at virtually the same time.
