On Wednesday 7th May, TailSpin are taking Night of the Storyteller – their pulse-quickening, imagination prickling, funny-bone tickling evening of stories and live music - to The Russet in Hackney!

MEDIEVALIA with SARAH RUNDLE
Medieval life may be nasty, brutish and short, but there’s still time for love and laughter. A plethora of Medieval and Renaissance stories from Italy present us with knaves, knives, and bundles of laundry; enchanted palaces and underground bunkers full of gold; unhappy partings and joyful reunions; family squabbles and mysterious strangers.

Sarah Rundle got locked in a laboratory but tunnelled her way to freedom. She ran away to drama school, and is now an actor and storyteller. Over the last seven years she has performed in theatres, cafes, museums, yurts, and a Saxon longhouse.

Plus sweet songs of love, loss, transformations and damnations from APPLE OF MY EYE - with rich and original vocal harmonies, both a capella and over the intricate melody lines of the bazouki, mandolin, violin, guitar, harmonica and double bass. Their debut album 'Devils' is available now on Pear O' Legs records and their second album will be available soon!

Plus short stories from Nick Hunt and Sarah-Liisa Wilkinson.

Come early to check out The Russet’s brilliant menu. We’re offering a deal – entry to the night AND a delicious supper for only £12! Book a table by emailing Cat at [email protected]. Please arrive by 7pm if you’re after supper.
