An intriguing interpretation of the streets of London is the focus of the latest exhibition at Curious Duke Gallery.
Taking place from 1st-31st May 2014, Hectified will be the first solo show from architect Tannaz Oroumchi.

Tannaz Oroumchi has bridged the gap between architecture and fine art with these intricate and beautifully drawn designs.

"Hectify" a word of Oroumchi's own making, means to envisage, or re-imagine a space by drawing over the existing map with ink on thin film. With her carefully drawn plans learned from her career as an architect, she is breaking up what exists to start with and changing the way we use the city, for work, play and life.

For instance, "London Bubble" questions our use of the Thames and its bridges; re-imaging foot bridges as circular community platforms stretching across the water.

According to Oroumchi the City could be a fluid space, rather than static and staid. Focusing on The Square Mile's labyrinthian streets, she also reworks the swirling roads around St Pauls, and the spiky angles of Oxford Street.

How well do you know the streets of London? Curious Duke Gallery and Tannaz Oroumchi invites you to find out!
