Gary Nicholls, a British photographic artist, doesn't just take photographs, he uses them to create art.

The first 20 images from his conceptualised neo-gothic fairy story, called The Imaginarium, will be exhibited at The Arch Collective from 8th - 21st May.

The Imaginarium is a “Steampunk Dickens” style tale which celebrates the redemption of one woman's journey from ruination to salvation. This is all told in images that have been entirely conceived and developed within Gary's imagination and transformed into a major work of art. It is a 3 year project that will include over 150 images, culminating in a limited edition Fine Art book. All images are printed on aluminium and are for sale throughout the exhibition.

It is not just an exhibition opening, it is a “Steampunk Event” and The Imaginarium is something that has not been done before. The opening night will be attended by the 28 cast members, all in steampunk costume, with props and costumes from the story also on display. Together with steampunks from all over the country also in full costume, the gallery will be full of Corsets, Goggles and Brass!
