A free interactive, one day market event at the famous Spitalfields Market inspired by the beautiful, vibrant and alluring continent of Africa and its
creative talents.

Following the successful launch of Africa at Spitalfields in 2013, Pop Up Africa
are pleased to announce that Africa at Spitalfields is back for 2014 on Bank
Holiday Monday 26th May - bringing together the best of African inspired
produce from all corners of the continent. This year promises to be even more
dynamic with added features allowing guests to explore the depths of African
culture without leaving the capital.

Our 2013 events saw Africa at Spitalfields incorporate an array of stalls displaying
items including (but not limited to): clothes, music, film, jewellery, interior design,
African art and craft – and this year plans to be even bigger.

Prepared to be transported to an African euphoria with Adowa and Kpanlogo
drums of Ghana exciting the feet of passers-by, while cuisine from all parts of
the continent including South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana
tantalise the palate of visitors – and this is just at the entrance. Within the
market, talented artisans will display their wares; with African crockery,
inspired art and wax print infused lifestyle items for men, women and kids as well as
original sculptures.

With a new year brings new ideas – visitors can expect fresh features for 2014.
The entertainment has been revamped and will be bolstered by an array of
talents and artists displaying the creativity and diversity of Africa.

To truly reflect the authenticity of what we are trying to achieve, this year we have teamed up with LPM Africa – an African based retail consortium who have been prolific on promoting African brands such as Jewel by Lisa, Maki Oh and The Orange Nerd (both were nominated for the LVMH prize in 2014) in the continent.
