Russell is an entrepreneur and co-founder of Hailo, the cab mobile application and driver network. This is one of the worlds' fastest growing start ups backed by an all star cast including Accel, Atomico, KDDI, USV and Wellington Partners.

A London cab driver for almost 30 years, Russell was previously co founder of Taxilight, a web based taxi booking service. Those 30 years experience in driving a taxi, along with the fact his father was a taxi driver, have been instrumental in the foundation of both Hailo and Taxilight. His blend of experience, passion and entrepreneurism has been invaluable in launching Hailo's 14 cities across the world. Raised in Stepney and educated at Raines Foundation Grammar School in London's east end has given Russell the knowledge, education and streetwise ability to make ideas happen.

About Hailo

Hailo is the evolution of the hail - a free smartphone app which puts people just two taps away from a licensed vehicle, and lets drivers get more passengers when they want them.

A Hailo hail is accepted around the world every two seconds from Hailo's global network of over 50,000 drivers and more than a million passengers. Launched in November 2011, Hailo is available in London, New York, all across Ireland, Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Madrid, Barcelona, Washington DC, Montreal and Osaka. Hailo has carried over ten million passengers and grown to annualized sales of well over $100M.

Founded by three taxi drivers and three internet entrepreneurs, Hailo has raised over $80M from the best investors anywhere, including Union Square Ventures, Accel Partners, Wellington Partners, Atomico Ventures and Sir Richard Branson.

Supporting the brew's official charity:

Village By Village: Small charity, making a big difference.

Village By Village is a UK-based charity working in African villages to reduce needless suffering of children in poverty. Our goal is to raise £20,000 that will build a technology focused primary school in a village in Ghana. The school will be kitted out with Raspberry Pi's for the children to be kept up-to-date with technology as well as learn new skills such as coding.

To attend, a donation of £3 is required at the time of booking.
