ArcelorMittal Orbit, London’s newest family visitor attraction, is unveiling its latest recruits - a team of real-life hawks.
From 24 May – Sunday 1 June, visitors can climb to the top of the ArcelorMittal Orbit to not only enjoy the 20 mile views across London, but to also name three hawks – two male and one female. The three winning entries will be announced on Monday 2 June when the hawks will be named. The three winners and their families will be invited back to meet the hawks and see them in action. They will also adopt their named hawk for a year and receive a soft toy of the new mascots.
The hawks are important members of the ArcelorMittal Orbit team. It is their job to patrol the 114.5 metre high sculpture to ensure that pigeons and other birds do not set up home within the iconic red steel attraction – the UK’s tallest sculpture.
