Artslav presents contemporary art exhibition CUE: a quirky little number introducing the work of young artists Katarina Rankovic and Takhmina Akhmedova. Included are: 1930's Reinhardt jazz, a cubicle cinema, quasi-mythological comic books, painting jams and improvised radio interviews with fictitious characters. The colour red, and the taste of red.
Housed in what was once an underground Victorian public lavatory, the works embrace sponteneity and improvisation, against a theatrical backdrop of self-mythologisation, ceremony and carnival. Come along to the opening, where visitors are invited to suit up, grab a glass of wine, and join us in creating a temporary hub of impromptu joie-de-vivre.
After the opening night on Friday 30th May we continue the celebration at neighbouring pub The Dog House, where the Stoneface Travellers and The New Jazzmags conclude the evening with some midnight music.
