"Why is a raven like a writing desk?" *, is the question posed in an innovative art show being held by over 40 fine art students of the City and Guilds of London Art School at the London Newcastle Project Space, Shoreditch.

Private view at 6pm on Thursday, 12 June. The show continues on Friday and Saturday opening from 12pm-6pm and Sunday from 9am-4pm.

This show brings together the independent projects of the first and second year degree students in Painting and Sculpture. Visitors will be treated to a visual mix of 3D pieces, prints and paintings with the opportunity to purchase work from aspiring artists.

City and Guilds of London is a school that focuses on combining a traditional and contemporary mindset, which leads to a high degree of technical ability, whilst fostering creative invention. Graham Crowley (former Professor of the Royal College of Art) singled out the School's Fine Art department for its ‘magnificent job’ in ‘maintaining the transformative power and joy of education through art’. It is hailed as one of the UK’s leading art schools.

The show is kindly sponsored by: London Newcastle Project Space and Brothers Cider.

The London Newcastle Project Space is at 28 Redchurch Street, London, E2 7DP. The nearest station is Shoreditch High Street (Overground) or Old Street (Tube) or can be reached by Bus routes: 26, 48, 67, 149 and 242 to Shoreditch High Street stop.
