These are among the interactive exhibits at this week-long event showcasing the latest research being crried out in UK universities.

A late opening on Wednesday June 11 features the chance to witness a volcanic eruption reproduced and see the jet and rocket-powered Bloodhound racing car which is set to break the World Land Speed Record of 1,000 mph, alongside less adrenaline-heavy sideshows like stand-up comedy and live performances.
