Cocktail Theatre

A new bar concept is being launched on Friday June 20 by the newly appointed Creative Director Of Bar Joao Gloria at Gillray’s County Hall in London.

Described as “Cocktail Theatre” the presentation in Gillray’s Bar will take place every Friday from 6pm to 9pm.

New cocktails will be created on the spot and “shared” with guests in the bar in the style of an informal sampling theatre. Joao and his team will be tasked with creating six different cocktails in the showpiece using the Gillray’s signature Gin, Vodka, Cognac, English Sparkling and Whisky. There will also be a new weekly Virgin.

Samples of the creations will be free with the full-scale experiences priced around £15.

“In rehearsals we trialled new infusions, old cocktail recipes with new twists and had several improvisation sessions where we asked the team for the weirdest, most expensive, craziest and most indulgent set of ingredients they could imagine,” said Francesco Galletti, Director of Restaurant & Bar. “The idea of Cocktail Theatre is to produce a unique set of cocktails in the unique setting and atmosphere of Gillray’s.”

The heady idea is the brain-child of Francesco and will also encourage the kitchen brigade to join in the performance.

Chef Gareth Bowen also wants to create some interesting canapé nibbles to go with our as yet “un-born” works of art with names like Escape Script, Tomfoolery, Curtain Call Combo and One In The Eye.

Cocktail Theatre will have it’s premiere staging on Friday June 20 and audiences are encouraged to attend this free performance!
