Recently voted ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the British Blues Awards, Jo Harman is an original British singer-songwriter/bandleader whose work is broadly influenced by blues, gospel, soul, country, rock and other ‘roots’ sensibilities.

In March 2014 the Daily Mirror, as part of a half page interview, described her as ‘the finest female soul blues singer in the UK’. Emerging initially as a ‘word of mouth’ independent, Jo remarkably secured over 50 UK and European festival gigs over in 2013, including prestigious slots at the likes ofCheltenham and Edinburgh Jazz Festivals. Last summer Jo was one of only 12 (otherwise household name) artists appearing at Parkpop in the Hague, performing to over 300,000 people. Moreover, late last year she performed alongside names like Robert Plant and Van Morrison at BluesFest at The Royal Albert Hall in London for Live Nation (Jo’s performance being broadcast by Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music) and was asked to re-appear in 2014. Jo also appeared on prime time European TV and mainstream radio, as well as making three appearances within 6 months at the world famous Paradiso, Amsterdam.

Jo’s 2013 debut album ‘Dirt On My Tongue’ received remarkable critical acclaim and no little commercial success making various of ‘best of’ lists and awards, internationally. She subsequently signed to V2 (stable mates include Adele, Mumford and Sons, Queens of the Stone Age etc) in Europe and the album entered the Netherlands album charts. Recently, Huey Morgan (Fun Lovin’ Criminals) said on his BBC Radio 2 show ‘Sometimes you hear a singer who leaves you speechless – I am‘.

In Summer 2014, Jo released a new album,‘Jo Harman and Company – Live At The Royal Albert Hall’, recorded by the BBC. This year, her international touring schedule extended to festivals in France, Germany, Poland, Spain and the Caribbean, as well as continuing many significant festival (Isle of Wight included), theatre and major club shows in UK. She and her band have just received no less than 4 nominations for this years British Blues Awards, including best singer, as well as best songwriter, in 2014 alone.

Jo Harman’s album, recorded ‘as is’ by the BBC at the Royal Albert Hall, was released formally (i.e. on digital platforms and shops) in the UK on Monday 27th October, the day before she returned to play The Royal Albert Hall at Bluesfest. The album has previously been available since May from the artist’s website and shows. The album is a companion release to Jo’s internationally acclaimed, and commercially successful, debut album ‘Dirt On My Tongue’, which, amongst very many awards and accolades, was named ‘international blues album of the year’ by Proper Music Distributors.

Mike Davies, who performs his own music under the name “Mi’das”, is a singer/songwriter and guitarist in the pop, soul and r&b genres.

From busking the streets to playing and singing to thousands with major label signings at venues like the O2 Arena, you could say the last 10 years has been quite a journey for this Brighton-born soulful strummer. As a guitarist/singer and keyboard player Mike has been a hired hand for major artists like Jessie J, Eliza Doolittle, Labrinth, Rizzle Kicks, Ellie Golding, Rita Ora, Jamie Cullum, and Beverly Knight, to name but a few.

Since branching out as an artist in his own right, Mi’das has received notable support from Gary Crowleys new music show (BBC London/BBC Introducing) and performed his own music at venues such as London's Jazz Cafe, the 100 Club and at festivals like Paris’ “Jazz à toute here”.

In the coming months Mi’das will be releasing a series of three EPs entitled “Glow”, “Grow” and “Stronger” to tell the story so far.

Heres what a few had to say about his first release:
