TERRIBLE COMEDY SHOW COMES TO LONDON

Stories of dying on stage for your amusement

TIRED of laughing with comedians? Now you can laugh at them. After a great run at last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, comedian Javier Jarquin is bringing his 'COMEDY DEATH: Comics Talking About Their Worst Gigs' show to London on February 17th.
The show features Jarquin interviewing guest comedians about their worst experiences on stage. “Traveling with other comics I heard so many hilarious, cringe-worthy stories of gigs going incredibly badly I decided to make a show about it” says Jarquin, “We've had stories of comics having to be escorted out of venues, getting assaulted, racially abused, doing a gig in a prison – one comic even had a shotgun pulled on him. We get all sorts”.
The show promises to be something different from a regular comedy night with comics telling real stories about themselves instead of trotting out their material one more time. “Some guests on the show find it very therapeutic, airing out these bad experiences, others just enjoy laughing at their own misfortune” says Jarquin, “All my guests are professional comedians who don't mind sharing about past times gone wrong. If a comedian tells you they've never had a bad gig – they've never had a good one”.

The venue is the Miller Pub near London Bridge which regularly hosts fringe comedy and improv nights. The guests for this show will be Jen Brister, Edd Hedges, Evelyn Mok and Larry Dean.

Although it is sure to strike a chord with anyone involved in the industry and comedy savvy audiences particularly, the show is aimed at anyone who enjoys hearing a good (bad) story.

Any comedian will happily tell you about 'smashing' a gig, only some will talk about the gritty, ugly truth – and make it funny.
