During the past 70 years, the development of surveillance radar has naturally been focused on engineering improvement in the radar itself, based on the approach pioneered in the 1940s. However, in the last 15 years, a number of authorities have found a deficit in the rate of fundamental advance in radar applications.

Dr Oswald will illustrate the advantages of an approach, known as Holographic Radar, in which more precise and comprehensive target intelligence is obtained, and which now forms the basis for a scalable range of radar sensors.

The lecture will be followed by a networking drinks reception.
