This Sunday the 7th June, Electric Cinema Portobello hosts 'Not So Silent Movies…’ with special guest David Arnold. Top class musicians will perform original soundtracks to the world’s greatest silent films, with absolutely no rehearsal before hand.

Devised by Philip Sheppard and Geoff Muncey, the films shown will star the greats of silent cinema, including Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and Harold Lloyd. None of the musicians watch the films in advance so the soundtracks are entirely improvised, often leaving the audience helpless with laughter.

In keeping with the Not So Silent Movies tradition of inviting special guests to participate in their afternoon of music, comedy, fun and danger, David Arnold adds his considerable talents and wealth of film score knowledge to the stage. Having worked on blockbusters such as Independence Day, Narnia and Stargate, as well as composing the music for five Bond films, the Grammy and Ivor Novello winning composer will be a welcome addition to proceedings.
