Following on from their public exhibitions last year with artists Gillian Wearing, Juergen Teller, David LaChapelle and this years 'Free the Night' exhibition which featured artists Sir Cecil Beaton, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Nick Knight, Corinne Day & Rankin amongst 20 others.

Annin Arts are proud to present artist/gallerist Javier Peres who will exhibit in London for the first time. Peres will show 'Sunset Boulevard 1970-1993' an image from his series of photorealistic River Phoenix paintings. Keeping within the Annin Arts format of public exhibits, the work will be displayed on a billboard at London Bridge from the 29th June through to the 12th July 2015.

'Sunset Boulevard 1970-1993' depicts Phoenix at the height of his fame shortly before his untimely death. 'I fixated on it because he was beautiful but it was never really about his face, for me' says Peres. 'River was a powerful, serene figure, very Buddha-like, very centred, I thought he was larger than life.' Peres explains, 'but at the same time, he was one of us.'

Known primarily as a gallerist Peres assembled a roster of artists which defined the early 2000's. Terence Koh, Dan Colen, Assume Vivid Astro Focus, Bruce LaBruce and the late Dash Snow are just a few of the artists that Peres Projects brought to our attention and more recently art world sensations such as Leo Gabin, David Ostrowski, Alex Israel, Mark Flood and Brent Wadden.
