Sam Swallow found great success with UK chart toppers The Hoosiers. Now in the final stages of recording his debut solo album, Sam takes influence from Ben Folds Five, early Elton John and Paul Simon.

Just embarking on his solo career, Sam has been getting his hands dirty in the music business for the last 10 years. Abandoning yet not completely forgetting his Cambridge academic music education, he delved into the London popular music world. His first band, Grace, signed deals with EMI and Warner Chappell back in 2005, but the group disbanded in 2007 allowing Sam to take up residence with UK chart toppers The Hoosiers. With them he extensively toured the UK, Europe and Japan, whilst ticking off all the boxes of the UK festival scene; they are set to release their fourth album this autumn. In and amongst, he has been privileged to work with the likes of Chrissie Hynde, Duffy, Simply Red and Texas.

As a solo performer he has worked regularly with the Aurora Orchestra, singing and playing at the Camden Roundhouse, ENO St Luke's, Musikfest (Bremen) and will be performing 'Rinse It Out' with them in Mexico City this November as part of their Jealous Guy programme.

His album is being produced by multi award winning producers Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg, and includes heartfelt original songs drawing on Sam's experience over the last 10 years. Having played piano for so many other artists, he is thrilled to finally take up the mantle himself and create and perform his own music.
