To celebrate the opening of the London Design Festival, on Saturday 19th September Valcucine, in partnership with Driade, will host an event featuring guest speaker Sir David Chipperfield.

Sir David will be in conversation with Kate Goodwin, Head of Architecture and Drue Heinz Curator at the Royal Academy of Arts, to discuss his approach to museum design, the importance of a sense of place and an understanding of the balance between the cultural meaning and technical performance of a building. He will describe architecture solutions that recall the identity of the institutions as well as the city it lives in and the ideas and values behind the creation of complex cultural heritage projects.

Sir David was recently appointed Creative Director of Driade, one of Italy’s most iconic design brands and part of ItalianCreationGroup together with Valcucine. The talk is organised in collaboration with Italian magazine Interni, as part of a series of five events held at leading Italian design brands’ showrooms throughout the London Design Festival.
