Celebrating the autumnal equinox a host of renowned soloists join the London International Sinfonia at Cadogan Hall on 20th September for an evening of operatic favourites, Russian & Chinese Dance and Xian Xing Hai’s Yellow River Cantata.

Supported by the UK–Chinese Dance and Cultural Exchange Association, International tenor John Hudson (WON, ENO, SO) is joined by Chinese lyric soprano Beibei Wang to perform various arias and duets from the Grand Opera tradition including Rusalka’s Song to the Moon, Verdi’s La donna è mobile and Puccini’s O soave fanciulla.

Pianist Julian Jacobson will play from the piano concerto version of Xian Xing Hai’s Yellow River Cantata and the concert will also feature a short celebration to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The event marks the beginning of an important collaboration between European and Chinese musicians and dancers which will result in future productions, staged in London, which will be also be presented in China. It is the Cadogan Hall debut appearance of the London International Sinfonia, an orchestra created by Peter Knapp to celebrate the cross-cultural diversity of musicians from all over the world who have studied in London.
