Riverside Young Singers and harpist Anne Denholm will be performing Britten’s 1942 piece "A Ceremony of Carols". This unusual work in eleven movements written for treble voices and harp, is written in Latin and Middle English, and passes through ancient plainsong, haunting melodies, plaintive solo voices and moments of Advent joy. The concert will also include other Christmas favourites such as “I wonder as I wander” and “Holy Night”. There will be mulled wine and hot chocolate served during the interval. The concert is free with a voluntary collection for the night shelter in Isleworth.
