Three Branch Festival comes to London Stage

Into the Dark, Directed By Polly Len Heinkel / Blackbird, Written by Adam Rapp, Directed by Lindsey Higgins / The Skull, Directed by Julia Hinson

Three female directors have joined together to produce, in March 2016, The Three Branch Festival at the Drayton Arms Theatre in South Kensington. The festival aims to create a platform in which female directors can explore their ideas and showcase them at a fantastic fringe venue.

INTO THE DARK, directed by Polly Len Heinkel, is a psychological exploration of Iago through the lens of new writing combined with the original text centred around 20th century USA. Desdemona is dead. Iago has been arrested. What now? Into the Dark runs on 16, 18, 20, 21, 28, and 29 March at 8:00pm.

BLACKBIRD, written by Adam Rapp and directed by Lindsey Higgins, is centred on the deteriorating relationship of two junkie lovers. It is a less than beguiling look at New York City’s lower depths mixing drugs, degradation, and defecation. Blackbird is suitable for ages 18+ and runs on 14, 17, 25, 26, 30, 31 March at 8:00pm.

THE SKULL by Philip K. Dick originally appeared in If Worlds of Science Fiction in September of 1952. From the midst of the McArthy era, Dick imagines a future world where a religious movement has radically changed the trajectory of the world. One man, a criminal and a subversive, is pulled from captivity to be sent back in time to kill the Founder of this religion and set the world back on the path to progress. Directed by Julia Hinson, THE SKULL runs on 15, 22, 23, 24 March and 1, 2 April at 8:00pm.
