What is the link between Queer activism and Fat activism?

Queer people are at the heart of fat activism but fat activism also represents a social movement that has a deeply queer sensibility to it.
Come and see Charlotte Cooper talk about her research, just published by HammerOn Press as Fat Activism: A Radical Social Movement.

In this book she lays out a queer genealogy of fat feminism; she proposes that fat can transform how knowledge is generated and owned; she gives amazing examples of how people apply queer to their fat activism, to show that it isn't just an academic theory; and she shows how fat activism bridges ideological gaps between people. Featuring lawlessness, recklessness, resistance, beauty, weirdness and hope.
