Our Make a Lampshade workshop is alway popular, but now we've moved it a step forward! We're really pleased to present a brand new origami-style folded lampshade workshop developed exclusively for us by Hannah Miles of Utensils0. Using the same materials as a traditional drum lampshade - metal fixings and fabric backed on to stiff vinyl, this lampshade is far tougher than paper but it folds and creases just like origami. Choose one of our two new designs - one is open at the bottom like a traditional lampshade, the other closes round the lightbulb.

We'll give you all the professional standard materials you need to create the lampshade, and we'll lead you through every step of the process. If you already know exactly the finished look you want, you can bring your own fabric and trimmings. Don't worry if you don't though, we supply a small but lovely range of fabrics to choose from, selected with the geometric design of the lampshade in mind.

This is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon - you'll learn something new, make something gorgeous and we're delighted that our lovely hosts the Proud Archivist are offering a complementary Bloody Mary or hot drink with your ticket. Take a moment to browse their very lovely cocktail list - what better way to toast your handiwork!
