A free event is taking place offering advice to female entrepreneurs who want to start up their own businesses.

Recent figures reveal that one-in-five small businesses in the UK are led by women and an estimated 35% of starts ups are now run by female founders. The biggest motivation is the desire for independence or a change.

The special information and networking evening has been organised by the capital’s leading female business social network Blooming Founders and corporate services and workspace providers Maple Leaf. It has been designed for women who have a business idea and need help taking the first step to making it happen.

Two guest speakers with immense track records in entrepreneurship will be at the event to give guests the real story on what it takes to go it alone, their tips for monetising an idea, the practical essentials and who you might need support from along the way.

London born Jessica Huie MBE is the founder of an award winning public relations consultancy and multicultural greeting card company. She is a qualified journalist and was awarded her MBE for her contribution to entrepreneurship. Abigail Barnes is the author of Time Management for Entrepreneurs. She is a coach and mentor with more than 10 years’ experience in international financial services sales and marketing.

Attending guests will also have access to an invaluable business start-up package from co-organiser Maple Leaf. Xcelerate combines all the elements you need to get a business up and running from registration and workspaces to creating marketing materials and administrative support.
