Goose Island Beer Co® Brings 2016 Bourbon County Stout To The Uk On Black Friday

Goose Island Beer Co. announces the first UK Black Friday release of its 2016 Bourbon County Stout. Traditionally launched in the US on Black Friday, 100 bottles of the eagerly anticipated bourbon-barrel-aged imperial stout will be available at Clapton Craft Kentish Town on 25 November.

Brewed and aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels for nine to twelve months, Bourbon Country Stout Original was first created in honour of the 1,000th brew batch at Goose Island’s original Clybourn Brewpub in Chicago.

There is plenty to savour in the aroma alone for Bourbon County Stout Original: the barrel imparts charred oak and vanilla scents, with chocolate, caramel and a hint of smoke. A full-bodied finish coats all corners of the mouth leaving a warm feeling in the throat and lingering flavours on the lips.

Goose Island Brewmaster, Jared Jankoski said; “This year’s edition should take you right back to where it started with Bourbon County Stout. Rich and deep with plenty to ponder, it features toffee and molasses, fresh tobacco and a bit of leather to go with the roast and barrel notes you are used to.”

2016 Bourbon County Stout is available to buy at Clapton Craft, Kentish Town on Black Friday, 25 November 2016, whilst stocks last for RRSP £20.

In the USA, the brewery is also releasing other variants on the Bourbon County line, which this year includes Bourbon County Stout Coffee, Bourbon County Stout Barleywine and Bourbon County Stout Proprietor’s – a Chicago only variant made to thank the local community who gave Goose Island it’s start.
